Today, the most effective form of media for advertising is the television. It shows both picture and audio at the same time to easily bring the message of the company to the people and their potential customers. The problem with this however is that advertising in television can be very expensive. Other forms of media where companies can advertise in are radio, internet and print.


By far, print media is the cheapest way to advertise. At the same time, it is easy to circulate to most of the target market. However, with new technology in hand, the print media needs to improve a bit more so it can stay in the game of advertising and marketing. With the use of cellular phones, SMS advertising for business owners became available.


A usual SMS message would consist of 160 characters. Since most SMS messages sent are far less than 160 characters, business owners and companies can opt to use the remaining characters to advertise their product or service. They can even opt to add simple web links or websites to the messages to generate interest in their products or service. Advertisers can easily spread the word regarding their products or service in this way. Plus, not only will this benefit the advertising company, but mobile service providers and mobile phone users as well.


Because companies would advertise through text messages, they would profit even more. At the same time, mobile service providers can lower the cost of their text messages, thus benefiting the users as well.
